Alastair Taylor is a convergent thinker with diverse category experience across the UK and North America, specializing in helping brands understand how technology and media is changing the point of purchase with their consumers. 

Currently, the SVP, Managing Partner at MEC in Toronto, Alastair has the responsibility of over seeing the Molson Coors and Colgate businesses as well as supporting the President in the management of the business. Alastair also looks after new business (with significant growth achieved including the L'Oreal Canada win in 2013) and drives strategy and thought leadership through the company. Alastair’s role is to ensure that the solutions provided for clients are rooted in a clear understanding of why we are doing what we are doing, and what we are trying to affect.

Previously as the VP, Managing Director of Carat in Toronto he had responsibility for the company’s English-Canadian operations. Growth was very strong under Alastair’s leadership and his contribution to the new business arena helped Carat win the Disney, Target and GM accounts. As Managing Director of a growing media agency, Alastair oversaw key relationships with clients such as Adidas, P&G, Mattel and Subway. 

In the UK, Alastair received numerous national and international nominations and awards for his work and graduated top of the industry for the IPA Advanced Communications Planning Certificate in 2007. He was also ahead of the curve in introducing innovative digital plans to his clients and pioneering eCRM, affiliate and social media strategies. 

Prior to starting his career in media, Alastair obtained a BSc in Marketing from Lancaster University’s Management School, and now lives in Toronto with his wife, Kate.
